Nd:YAG(Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet) laser crystal provides the laser system designer with the most versatile solid state laser source in use today. With thousands of systems in daily use, Nd:YAG continues as the best of the rare earth garnet laser materials characterised by four level laser operation, permitting low threshold pulse or CW operation. Nd:YAG laser rods produce efficient laser output at 1064nm. The systems designer can select from several levels of dopant concentration to optimize laser performance.
Nd:GdVO4 (Neodymium doped gadolinium orthovanadate) is an excellent laser crystal for diode pumped lasers. Similar to the Nd:YVO4 crystals, Nd:GdVO4 also exhibits high gain. As well as this the crystal boasts low threshold, high absorption coefficients at pumping wavelengths.
Nd:YVO4(Neodymium Doped Yttrium Vanadate) crystal has excellent efficiency, physical, optical and mechanical properties, and is widely applied as laser material to diode-pumped solid-state(DPSS) lasers to yield stable and powerful red, green and infrared laser. In comparison with Nd:YAG material for diode-pumping applications, Nd:YVO4 lasers have the following features:
- Lower lasing threshold and higher slope effciency
- Large stimulated emission cross-section at lasing wavelength
- High absorption over a wide pumping wavelength bandwidth
- Low dependency on pumping wavelength and easier to yield single mode output
Diffusion Bonding Crystals are crystals consisting of two, three or more parts with different dopant levels or different dopant. Usually, one laser crystal and one or two undoped crystals combined by optical contact and further bonded under high temperature. It can have different wedged structure, Brewster angles, etc. These Diffusion Bonded composite crystals are used to effectively decrease heat effect of Solid-State High-Power Laser:
- High damage threshold
- Improve beam quality
- Decrease thermal effect
- Improve efficiency
- Compact size
